3D Modelling & Digital Sculpting

Building upon the previous 3D modelling module, we were introduced to digital sculpting and tasked with producing both a character head and an environment of our choice

Task

At the start of second year, we were given the optional choice of taking this module which would further develop our skills in 3D modelling with the introduction of digital sculpting. Since 3D art is something I enjoy and we had a similar module in the previous year, I took up this offer as a means of further developing my 3D skills and tool set. For this module, we were introduced to digital sculpting either via Mudbox or ZBrush and developed our knowledge of 3DS Max further.

To apply our knowledge and for the assessment, we were required to create two projects for submission: one character head and one environment. The details and characteristics of both were left to us to decide. Prior to beginning work on either project, we had to provide research and concepts and present this in front of the class and staff. My slides for this are available as a .pdf here: click here

With the submission being split into two parts, we were required to render a video for each part. Embedded below is the video of the character head, rendered in real-time in Unreal Engine 4.

Embedded below is a short video of the environment, rendered in real-time in Unreal Engine 4.
