Team Project
Task
In the second trimester of second year, we began our second group project (uh oh) This time around, we were put into groups of 7 or 8 with the group being made up of a mix of designers, artists and programmers. Over the space of 12 weeks, we were expected to produce a local-multiplayer game based around the theme of "dicator"
Our group consisted initially of 3 designers (1 being myself), 2 artists and 2 programmers. However, in the early weeks, we were down to 1 programmer which resulted in myself having to contribute towards the programming in order to distribute the workload more efficiently. After many, many brainstorms, the initial concept we went for was a short wave-based 2D platformer game where one player would be able to activate various traps and abilities in the level in order to defeat the other players. The game would feature a series of very short and straightforward minigames where one player would win, allowing them to become the "dictator" for the next round. The main intention was to create an approachable game that was very fast, fun and frantic for groups of 4 to enjoy. We believe the main concept and design behind the game was solid enough and that the art style was friendly and fitting, however, due to scope and timing, the core game was not in a great state which unfortunately made the game awkward to play.
Nevertheless, although the final execution of the project did not end up the way we wanted, like most group projects, many valuable lessons were learned through these failures and experiences.

User Interface
Trailer
Similar to the previous integrated project (group project), we were required to produce a trailer to present to the class and staff. Despite the game not fully functioning properly, I was able to pull together a trailer in a short space of time in order to meet our deadline:
